This is unified with an internal RUNDRY Collar Lining which secures the heel while wicking moisture away from the surface of the skin allowing the foot to stay dry and the wearer more focused. Merged over to secure the mesh in place, flexfilm overlays supports the mesh structure from torsion and any sharp vigorous movements. It wraps and cradles, hugging the foot in all the right places without ever getting in the way for superior support and comfort. At the forefoot an Open Toe Box design is seamless and offers superior comfort, further augmenting a sock-like feel. Midsole - Responsive Compound The Midlayer foam compound of the Breakthru 2 utilises heel-to-toe POWERGRID cushioning. This proprietary midsole component combines shock dissipating GRID technology with Powerfoam material to create a cushioned and a responsive ride. POWERGRID is a lightweight, ultra-premium cushioning foam that, ounce for ounce, delivers a smoother and more rebound-filled ride than the competition. This midsole engineering works parrallel with the full length SSL EVA, which is Saucony's premium midsole material for lightweight comfort, rebound and durability with superior impact protection. The Breakthru 2 is set with Saucony 8mm offset Technology, this is where Cushioning is distributed more evenly between the heel and forefoot in shoes with an 8mm offset. The result? Love these shoes! Great fit, comfortable for long distances (up to 10 miles, typically about 8 Mike's). I have been wearing for a couple months and they still feel great. I wear a women's 5 with orthotic inserts and these fit with my inserts or the Saucony sock liners that come with the shoes. I sometimes have problems with Saucony's being too shallow, meaning the shoe doesn't go far enough up the back of my heal or rubs the tops of my toes these are great. Nice roomy toe box without being sloppy big.

7.5 I probably could have done a wide width... the right shoe is just a tiny bit tight at the toe, however my right foot is a tad bit longer.
There is no arch support. I do not need it, but if you do, it really has no raised curve for the arch. The neat thing of this shoe is that the tongue is all connected, so it does not shift. I like the mesh, I do feel the air through them, when the wind blows. It is light, but the base is good and wider for stability. These are the first pair for me, but this is all I buy for my kids and they last 'forever'. Years, since we pass them down for '2nd' shoes. Really a great shoe. it's worth the money.

I am a young <30yo female looking for a comfortable and cute sneaker that can accommodate inserts with added support for my high arches. The Breakthru 2 was very lightweight and had removable inserts, but the shoe itself was not deep enough to fit inserts, even when I sized up. The shoe itself does not have real arch support. With my inserts, I had a significant amount of heel slippage as I experienced with many other Saucony shoes. This was super disappointing because I have had many Saucony sneakers over the years and have never had problems until I tried to use an insert. Aside from the fit, the twilight/oxygen/citron colors were true to the picture on Amazon and the sole was lightweight, but not squishy--slightly firm and very responsive. Sadly, these were returned.

Other stylish sneakers that will accommodate orthotics and arch support inserts include: Saucony Echelon (fits in my normal women's 8.5 size), Brooks Glycerine (sized up to 9.0 as Brooks run narrow/small), Brooks Dyad (although not very stylish, sized up to 9.0). I did not find any New Balance styles that would work (tried about 15), and I did not try Asics.
